ShopRite Supermarkets, a division of Wakefern Food Corp. that operates company-owned stores, confirmed to Supermarket News that it is acquiring three ShopRite stores in the Philadelphia area from independent operators.

The stores are located in West Chester and Philadelphia (Whitman Plaza and on Roosevelt Boulevard). The independent operators selling the stores are the Miller family (KTM Supermarkets), the Colligas family, and the McMenamin family, respectively. The Miller and Colligas families plan to exit the supermarket business, while the McMenamin family will still operate in Hatfield and Philadelphia (Morrell Plaza).
